Meditation is a great way to connect with that little being forming inside of you! It can be as simple as listening to some of your favorite music and breathing deep.
Here’s a simple technique to try: Lie down on your back or sit comfortably with your legs crossed. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Bring your attention to your toes, feeling each one individually. Move your focus to your feet, then your ankles, then your calves. Work your way up through your whole body, making sure to spend at least a few deep breaths on each area of the body. When you get to the tip of your head, focus your energy on your third eye, which is on your forehead in between your eyebrows. Then bring your hands to your tummy and focus your energy on your little sweet pea! I like to focus on a mantra while I breathe deeply here; I breathe in love and as I breathe out I think of peace. Any words or ideas that have meaning to you will work perfectly!
This is a great way to bring attention and intention to your baby. It creates great mommy-baby time, even before you can start feeling baby move around in there, and creates good habits for quiet, restful time throughout the rest of pregnancy and beyond!
